NWR Who has been to Bermuda?

NWR Who has been to Bermuda?

We're thinking about booking a cruise this summer to Bermuda. The cruise is docked in Bermuda for 3 days. Is that too long? My mom claims that there's nothing to do in Bermuda. Who has been there?

Thanks!

There is plenty to do in Bermuda, there's shopping, lighthouses, museums, beaches, good restaurants, botanical parks and the list goes on LOL

I have, but we went other places too. I know my friend said the same thing!!! You wouldn't want to go to bermuda with other places combined, we went last year on an 9 day princess cruise and it was out of this world!!! We left from BK too.

nope. that's just about right. i cruised to Bermuda and we were there for 2 days. First day, we did St. Georges and some caves in the area and walked around Hamilton. Next day, we did Horseshoe Bay Beach. You could easily spend more time in Hamilton, esp if you want to shop. Or hit up another beach or spend a day being active (re: mopeds / jet skis / parasailing). If 2 days is enough, spend the 3rd day on the ship and use the spa at a discounted rate.

Thanks ladies, I think we will book it. My mom claims that you can only sit on the beach but she was there in the 70's with my grandmother and maybe that's all they did.

I feel better about booking it now

FH & I looooved bermuda!

best advice I could give anyone is to rent a scooter and travel the island on your own! the island is so small and so safe, its almost impossible to get lost...you will get to see sooooo much! we saw many cool buildings, parks, golf courses, small beaches etc

you must do it!

we did a cruise too...there's plenty to do!

the cruise will give you lists of things to do on the island

Are you using NCL? FH's family goes on a cruise every year and for the past 2 years (plus again this May) we'll be doing the cruise to Bermuda for 3 days.

Honestly, I think having the 3 days is perfect. It's the perfect amount of time to explore the different parts of Bermuda and you are not confined to just King's Wharf where you dock. You can take a shuttle boat to other parts of the island (like Hamilton which is really nice and has some great shopping and nightlife).

I went on a cruise to Bermuda and we had a BLAST. The beaches are gorgeous, shopping is great, we had fun at clubs during the evening.... you'll love it!

I went to Bermuda and there is definitely enough to do for two days, but your mom's right, it is more of just a romantic, beautiful location, and nothing too exciting. IF you're on a cruise though you can do tons of fun excursions like the crystal caves, ride on segways, etc. etc.

My family took a cruise to Bermuda when I was younger. There was plenty to do for that amount of time. It's definitely a relaxing place and I'm sure the cruise ship will have excursions available. I remember going snorkeling and relaxing on the beach a lot. 2 words - PINK SAND!! We also hired a taxi who gave us a tour of the island. It was fun!

I'm leaving on this exact cruise through NCL on May 16th!!! I've done this cruise before, but I really like it because it gives you so much time in Bermuda. Most other cruises let you stop for only a few hours. This way you can experience the nightlife and everything!

i loved Bermuda. i was telling FH we should go. It's a gorgeous island. People are so nice and it's safe. You can rent mopeds and explore the island yourself. What other island do you know that is that safe?

TONS of shopping and places to go and its CLEAN.

Book it.

Re: NWR Who has been to Bermuda?

I went on a cruise to Bermuda a few years ago and I loved it. There was plenty to do off of the ship (shopping, snorkeling, visiting caves, plenty of different beaches, and my favorite.. bars that let me legally drink when i was 19)

We were docked in Bermuda for about 4 days (the 1st day we went to some place, I don't remember the name, and then the next 3 days after we were docked in Hamilton).

My advice to anyone going on a cruise... bring your own medicine (if you have any leftover antibiotics or even OTC medicines). I got sick the last day we were docked in Bermuda (bad fever and double ear infection ) and the doctor on the cruise was very expensive...and the medicine that I paid a lot of $$$$ for didn't even work- I had to go to my own doctor a few days after I got home.

Re: NWR Who has been to Bermuda?

Well, since this thread got bumped today I guess I'll update.

We are sailing out of NJ on Celebrity for a 7 night cruise to Bermuda.

There were very few weeks this summer that I could actually get away and Bermuda seemed to work well with both my work schedule and DH's.

I am excited !

Thank you to all who posted on this thread. Hearing that my mother's cruise info was a little outdated gave me the confidence to book!
