NWR: Work/Professional Accomplishments

I'm filling out this monster of a job app for my interview on Friday and they want to know what my top 3 major accomplishments in life are.

I have my MBA, the charity program I developed at work to allow our employees to give back to the local community aaaaaaaaand I got nothing... I feel like anything else I've done is kinda minor... Who has an accomplishment I can hijack? Not murdering my FMIL comes to mind but I don't think that is work related.

I also need

3 words that describe me
3 of my greatest strengths
3 reasons to hire me over someone else
3 areas I would like to improve on

UGH. I hate this. I don't like being on this end of recruiting!! I like being on the side that gets to judge others for their answers to these questions!!!! LOL!!!

have you worked on any other projects at work....even if it was just assisting with a project. you can talk it up like u had a bigger role.

i feel like the 3 words to describe u, 3 strenghts and 3 reasons to hired u are all the same thing really ?!?!.... I would look at the job description for the job and try to see what they are looking for....i.e if they want an organized multitasker u could say i am very organized etc

3 areas to improve...take things ur not great at but spin them so u can either show that u have made efforts to improve them or spin it into a positive.

I've worked on tons of projects... like I revamped the entire performance review system for one of our companies and started up an Intern program but they both were so easy and didn't really take much time at all... Should I just use one of those?

What kind of job is it so we can help you on the 3 items?

I think anything you did at previous jobs that help to build office moral that was not required of you is a good thing to bring up. Office culture is often overlooked but attempts of the staff -unprovoked by management- is always a good sign.

Strengths you can include (only if you think it applies and work in your favor) team player, leadership roles, listens well, respects authority.

Weakness, public speaking? This is a horrible one of mine.

It's an HR Generalist position.

I'll build off of the leadership thing and the public speaking thing is a good idea!!! I actally don't mind it but it's the perfect thing to 'need improvement' on.

I'm like a pro at interviewing. I would def talk up your revamp of performance review accomplishment b/c it's just specific enough that someone will be impressed without you having to go into the details (i.e. it wasn't hard to do)!

3 words that describe me
1. positive
2. hardworking
3. efficient

3 of my greatest strengths
1. detail-oriented
2. thorough - take all projects to completion
3. organized - love deadlines

3 reasons to hire me over someone else
1. My extensive experience (XX years)
2. My unique combination of industry knowledge + MBA - I can bring a fresh viewpoint to the job
3. I will give 110% (something cheesy like that - I will work harder than anyone else)

3 areas I would like to improve on
1. Excel functions (do you use Excel? This is usually a great one b/c no one knows all the functions)
2. gain more professional credentials
3. try to see big picture, as opposed to focusing on details
