NWR - World Cup (Possible spoiler)

Anyone else into this?

FH got me into it by waking up early to watch games.

USA (women) is playing right now in the semi-finals - and they've just pretty much blown it with 35 or so minutes to go.

I love soccer and always watch the world cup but dont really watch the womens world cup, seen it a few times though...but wow surprised, the usa womens soccer team always dominates

I know - they haven't lost a game in years. They're now down 3-0 v. Brazil.

And, Shannon Boxx got carded out. So she was pulled out of the game, and is out for the next game too, which is huge.

Yeh a big fan of world soccer. I watched almost every game last yr before Italy won. I love it.

i want them to win but at least theres finally some competition...FH was talking to me about this the other day, how the US womens team always wins and how come our womens soccer team is 10x better than the mens soccer team. It becomes boring if you watch and you know exactly who will win

I LOVE SOCCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont watch the womens only mens. I remember when Greece won in 2004, and Italy won one year. The streets of Astoria were INSANEEEEEE

OMG i just happened to get off the triborough right when they won, and on astoria boulevard at the huge intersection i was just stuck there bc cars just stopped in the middle and ppl were out of their cars going nuts and nobody was moving

That's also true! But - if we had won today (or by some strange miracle, score 4 goals) we would face Germany, who is quite possibly better than us!

lol..... it's in China now! Last weekend, FH woke up at 7am on Saturday to watch the game.... it's much more fun to watch than I thought it would be.

Soccer players are SO DRAMATIC, too! With every tiny little injury, you would think that they got hit by a train, they throw themselves on the ground and cry!

lol..... it's in China now! Last weekend, FH woke up at 7am on Saturday to watch the game.... it's much more fun to watch than I thought it would be.

yeah especially the world cup it is very exciting, i was glad to see fh get so into it...he played in HS but he started late probably 15 years old so thats why he never got into it...he gets mad now bc he says out of all the sports he plays thats the one he has the built for, and would've done well if he played from younger.

Yeah i hate that, its all part of the game and trying to get penalty kicks, it gets so annoying after a while.

Also, one of Brazil goals was an own goal.
