NWR- Would you be mad??

NWR- Would you be mad??

So I had dinner plans with a good friend of mine for tonight. She's recently divorced and in 'party mode.' She asked to meet at 7 which was kind of annoying for me since I would have to drive 20 mins past where we were meeting to come home, then drive back to dinner... but she said she had to take her dog to the vet and 7 would be the earliest she could meet. So I said that was fine.

As I'm walking out of work I see her FB status says that she's at Happy hour!! So, she lied to me!! I texted and called her to ask and no response (cuz she prob can't hear her phone). Then to boot, I hit traffic and didn't get home til 6:10...to have to then leave my house at 6:40 to meet her? So, I texted her and cancelled. Still haven't heard back from her. Would you be mad too or am I overreacting??

Maybe she went to happy hour and then the vet? I would def. investigate. If it was true I'd be a little insulted.

She ended up texting me back...sounded drunk already and said that she cancelled her dogs vet appt and went to happy hour. I dunno...I just don't believe her. Think she said that cuz i caught her. Oh well!

If it was me I would have met her for dinner and then asked her how the vet was! I love catching people in lies

omg!!!! i guess you have to give her a break, because she's probably going through somewhat of a crisis. i can't imagine it's easy going through a divorce, but my friends who have had breakups always go into 'party mode' right after and they're just insane. give her time.

Yup.. I called her out on it and she told me she was at a friends house cuz she 'had to stop by' there...but why would she call stopping at a friends house Happy Hour???and she cancelled the vet appt Whatever!! I wouldn't be so mad if she was truthful from the getgo. I would have eve met her at happy hour!! Lol

Friends making up lies is completely rediculous. I would call her out on it and ask why she didn't just tell you the truth! WEIRD!

Ughh I have a friend exactly like this! Going through a divorce which she caused and she's always canceling on me and being selfish bc she's 'having a hard time' meanwhile its a cop out. I'm so tired of being canceled on and lied to I don't even bother making plans anymore. I just can't deal with that nonsense anymore.
