This is so petty but here it goes, its friday night and I so wanna go out. since the car died joe had to leave his job because it required a car. I've been able to get by very well with my own small business selling things online. However joe hasn't really left the house. Hes been so depressed, so I figured why not just go out to a movie. He won't go. A male friend of ours called up and I ask him to come with me to the movies, hoping it would encourage joe to go too. He told me very nicely to have a good time! (sign) I know things will be better once we have a car and he can go back to work, but I can't snap him out of this. All he does is just sleep for hours and watch TV. He can't sleep at night, I often find him out side smoking a ciggerrette alone. I offered to have him help me with the business, but he said thats my thing and he doesn't want to ruin it for me. I'm really worried. Sorry girls just venting alittle. I know I do that a lot.

I'm sorry for your situation--how soon can you get your car? There was no other way he could get to work--Friends? Train?
Good luck to you!

He doesn't want to commet to a job unless he has reliable transportation. I have use of my moms car, but not always. With my business I can work around it, most jobs wouldn't put up with it. We are in an area that isn't even in walking distances to a bus. I'm doing fine with supporting us. My business is doing well. However, joe won't leave the house any more. Its just upsetting.

How does he feel about you helping him on his job search? Is he looking in the paper or on-line? Maybe you could help point him in the right direction or put together a resume for him.
LOOKING for a job is sometimes harder than actually working a full time job.
Good luck to you both!

Fincailly we are okay. He just doesn't have a way to get to work. He could have a job in a second if he had a car. Heck his friend has a job lined up for him once has a way to get there. I'm just worried about him not leaving the house at all. I just want him to get out. We were invited to a going away party, he didn't want to go. A friend of ours invited us to go to the bar with him, joe refused him, and now i'm going to the movie with our friend pete and joe doesn't want to leave the room. I'm worried about him.

Have you tried talking to him about it? I think you need to have a serious sit down and tell him you are really worried about him and that you think he needs to make an effort to get out bc it's not healthy and you don't want to see him depressed.

I absolutley agree! He may need his 'down time' but there is a point where enough is enough and he may need you to give him a little kick! He'll thank you eventually!
