NWR...for apartment people with DOGS

how often do you take them out to um....ya know....

im used to living in a house and he'd just knock on the door when he wanted to um.......
so i'd let him out.

we're in an apartment now and he stopped knocking. I take him out like 2 or 3 times a day and idk if thats enough.

any help would be greatly appreciated lol

my dogs can hold it for a very long time. On work days, we are gone from 8:00am till 7:00 pm. And even when I let them out when I get home, they don't run for the door. I think smaller dogs go more often though. FMIL has a small dog and he goes 3 or 4 times a day.

thats not always true..i have a smaller dog and she can last all day!! we have left her home for long hours and she has never once had an accident..even when we are home..she goes out twice a day tops..

We take our dog out a minimum of three times a day with at least one longer walk. More often if we're home all day. But usually its once in the morning, after work and then before bed and he's good with that. However he will wait till we take him, he never 'asks' - he's a weird dog haha.

FH's dog (i'm on the couch with her right now!) is a black lab mix and she generally goes out after breakfast to go both ways, when he gets home from work 1 way, after dinner both ways, and before bed 1 way.....that's on work days of course On weekends she goes different times depending what we do, but if she really needs to go she will come over and shake her collar (like, 'hello, please put my leash on, I need to go out now!')....hehe....
