Aww I'm so sorry to hear that you got the flu. Don't worry I never get the flu shot either. I had to get it when my mom had cancer and I feel like I got the flu from it even though people say that's not true. Anyway FH has the flu now and I'm just hoping I don't get it too!!! Feel better! He has been sleeping a lot and drinking lots of fluids and taking nyquill!

OMG is it ever!!!!!
I am a nurse and work in an office just TODAY alone we have had 17 patients test positive for the flu!!!
Girls drink plenty of water and get to the doc asap if you suspect the flu, there is an antiviral that works great called tamiflu. Oh, and alot of handwashing- by everyone in the household!
According to the doc I workl for you can still get a flu shot, while it is not a guarantee that yiou wont get the flu, it greatly reduces your chances!!!
Feel better!!!!! The worst will be over in the next few days, you still may feel a bit crappy for the next 1-2 weeks

Drink ginger tea. It will knock it right out. Just get fresh ginger and place it water and boil it under you smell theginger, pour it into a cup and you can put honey.

Flu usually lasts a week. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest!! Go to the Dr and get some Antibiodics. That can help too!!!

The flu is the worst! I've had it every year for the past 4 or 5 years! I can't get a flu shot, because of an underlying heart condition. Thermaflu works best for me and plenty of rest. I totally feel for you, I know how horrible it can be! I even had it when I was in Italy this past April!! Feel better and get plenty of fluids and rest.

Well One and a half days has past since I first had symptoms...My fever spiked at 101.3 and is slowly working its way down from there!! Im going stir crazy...sitting on this couch for days...but I have no choice...Thank You all so much for the ideas. I usually try and steer clear from anti biotics...Im not a big fan of them and I havent taken antibiotics in 7 years!!! So im going to try and get better on my own first. Im taking every single one of your advice...especially the ginger idea!!! Therma flu is a dream!!! Thanks girls

My fever finally broke yesterday morning. It was highest on Saturday at 102.1, but ranged from 99.0 to 101.7 thereafter.
I tried 2 different kinds of Theraflu and neither really helped. Massive amounts of water, sleep and Nyquil have helped tremendously. Feel better
