I had my wisdom tooth pulled last Wensday, and I am still in a lot of pain. I can't sleep, I can't eat... the pain killers don't help. My ear hurts and I have a funny taste in my mouth all the time...... oh yeah, and I can't open my mouth all the way (because it hurts very bad w/ my TMJ). Is this normal? Should I call the dentist?

You should definately call the dentist. You may need to have it drained--you chould have what they call a 'puss pocket' and yes, it is as gross as it sounds.

yes u should callt he doctor asap. you might have something called dry socket which i had when i had my wisdom teeth removed. basically dry socket occurs when there is no blood clot in the space where the tooth used to be so it's basically a dry hole and that's why u feel pain. if this is what u have theres no need to worry - just go to the doctor and they will pack in the holes with gauze and medicine and trust me when i tell u, u'll feel relief immediately. You may have an infection so you should definitely call your dentist. Hopefully they'll be able to relieve your pain by taking care of the infection.

Yeah, there's definitely something going on, but whatever it is, the dentist should be able to fix it and get you out of pain. Call ASAP and tell them EMERGENCY !!!

OH sounds like an infection or possibly a dry socket!!! I had a dry socket after my last wisdom tooth was pulled and I felt a million times better after i went back to the dentist!
