NWR...........Snoring

NWR...........Snoring

OKay so..........
FH snores like crazy. Drives me insane sometimes I have to get up and sleep on the couch..........and no joke, I have ear plugs too that I wear but I lost 1.
Does anyone know if those strip things that you put across your nose work? I was thinking of getting them for him but dont want to if they dont work.
What else can he do? Should he go to the DR or soemthing? When I say its loud, I mean its LOUD!!
It gets 10 times worse though when he drinks.

Can you whistle? I know it sounds crazy but I used to have this problem both with FH and my puppy. A good sharp whistle will jarr them enough so that they shift and stop snoring.

DH used the breathe right strips, and they work well for him. I think they are at least worth a shot - I think they really make him breathe better at night.
I also put on a fan or something else that makes white noise in the room to drown out the sound.

Does he ever sound like he stops breathing when hes sleeping? Sleep Apnea is something that sometimes goes along with bad snoring in this case a doctor can help.
My fh can be pretty loud sometimes too and ive actually been debating thoes strips as well. I dont know if they work though. They also make a throat rinse that you gargle that is supposed to help. In my case for now when its bad i poke at him until he rolls on his side which makes it much quieter.

Proably not all to helpful but I feel your pain. Good luck!

The strips are definitely worth a try. I have seen them work before.

Yeah Breathe Rights work for my FH most of the time.

The strips didn't work for FH, he actually had surgery last month after seeing a Dr. because he had three issues going on with his nose...one of them being a deviated septum. He still snores a little but not as bad as before the surgery. The Dr. said it takes a good two months for the true results to be seen/heard.

Tell him to go to the Dr. There could be many causes for the snoring including sleep apnea but due to the fact that it gets worse when he drinks....there may be something structurally wrong. Not anything serious so don't get worried!! But he may need minor surgery...look into it.

they have a liquid snore medicine in CVS.

Does anyone know if the rinse works??? FH wears the strips sometimes, but he looks like a football player and he takes it off, while he sleeps.

And its not to cute looking at him, if you know what I mean before bed.

If his snoring is really bad he can have surgery.

FH snored BAD, REALLY BAD, so he had his adenoids, tonsils and a nasal reduction done and now he doesnt snore at all, i mean NOTHING! He is so quiet now sometimes I think he stopped breathing haha

He said it was an early wedding gift to me to save us from getting a divorce when we move in together

From a fellow 'COUCH SLEEPER' ROFLMAO The strips DO NOT WORK!!!! I bought them for my FH and I think they made it worse. There is a new spray that I saw in CVS by the cold medicines....haven't tried it yet but I want to.. He kills me and most of the time i sleep on the couch.. I started using a small fan in the summer and pointed it at his face and believe it or not it has cut down his snoring by half!!!! Now if I could just get it to stop all together I might get some sleep

I love the breathe right strips..I don't exactly snore (now all of LI weddings knows I go to sleep being called 'my little linebacker' haha) but they do promote breathing through your nose, which helps a LOT with the snoring since you are not breathing through your mouth, where the snore comes from...good luck!!

the strips work for my husband. Get the name brand, not the CVS brand.

My FH has/had SLEEP APNEA.. it is very serious.. so definately make sure thats not the problem.

Re: NWR...........Snoring

The Breathe Right Strips definitely make him snore less but they don't stop the snoring 100%.

In regards to the sleep apnea...it is very serious...my aunt had it and she didn't know. She was over weight and a smoker. One night she stopped breathing and died. The disorder causes the person to stop breathing and in minor cases only for a few seconds. I don't mean to scare anyone but it is very serious and I would go to a doctor and get tested by a sleep technologist.

Are you sure we're not marrying the same person? LOL He should see a doctor. Even though he's not awake, he's definitely not sleeping well, and neither are you. Jack (my FH) tried the nosestrips but they didn't help much (and I tried earplugs! Argh!). Vicks under the nose helps a little, and so might a humidifier. Does he need to lose weight? That would definitely improve his breathing at night. But honestly? Talk to a doctor. You want to make sure he's not suffering from sleep apnea.

I know this prob very well..I used to have to take nyqil in order to fall asleep b/c of it (I know that's bad now so I don't anymore) anyway the strips do work for my FH...you just have to make sure he remembers to put them on...lol
