NWR..So I missed my maid of honors

baby shower this weekend. I feel really, really bad. and now she hasn't returned my texts. FH fell in the house and hit his head. We thought he was ok but he had a terrbile headache and was dizy and threw up. So he wakes up the next day still dizzy and still throwing up. I told him I was taking him to the hospial no questions asked bc something was wrong but he didn't want to go. I called the doctor who told me to take him to the emergency room right away. We both got dressed, had her gift in the car, and went to the emergancy room. I figured if he was ok aftewards I would drop him off and go alone. I called her on my way to the hospital and told her I prob wouldn't be able to make it or would be really late and what was going on. I couldn't really tell from her reaction if she was mad or not. We ended up being there for 4 hours and he has a really bad concussion. As soon as we left I texted her I wouldn't be coming, it would take me at least 1 1/2 to get there so it would have been over, how sorry I was and hope she was having a good time. He is home now and still dizzy and feeling sick. She already had people not coming bc her family threw it in a restaurant 2 boroughs away so I guess people thought it was too far to travel. Even before the shower I got her a whole bunch of gifts for the baby plus I know she's going through alot of drama with the baby's father. I think she was going to have me open up gifts with her too. Do you think she's mad?

If she didnt return your texts, i would give her a call...

If it turns out that she is mad, I think the fact that your FH had a really bad concussion should be reason enough to miss her shower... its not like you blew her off or something....

sounds like she is still mad. even though she really shouldnt be
but with situations like this i would never text.
pick up the phone and call her. even if she doesnt pick up leave a vm.

she might be mad but i dont think she really should be. You had a really good reason for not being there and you did the right thing by letting her know and apologizing. I can understand her being disappointed but she shouldnt really be mad. I would try calling her to talk about it.

ITA agree.... how could you not take car of something so important. hopefully she will come around and realize that his health was more important at that moment.

She sounds like she is mad, but I would just give her a call. She should definitely understand that you had an emergency. Hope it all works out.
