so i took theodore(my 1 yr old puppy) to the groomer on friday. we had to shave him cuz he was matted(my mom will be getting a lesson on brushing ) and we gave him a blue mohawk. he looks soo fierce
took him to the city sunday he was great. every1 was stopping to take pix of him..yadda yadda,,
well last night i go visit him(he lives with my mom)..and my mom said hes been scratching a lot since he got the haircut.. i look on the side of his head and its a dime-sized scab. im HOPING its just from the groomers and he just got cut.. and not osmething else like ringworm or watever.
i did research online last night and they said to put diaper rash cream or gold bond itch powder on it.
im guna try it for 2 days... if it doesnt get better... im off to the vet.
he's such a cutie. I hope everything's ok with him!

Barb, he most likely has fleas. dogs ALWAYS seem to have them when coming home from the groomers. Just check him and if he does, buy some Advantage (best sh!t out there)

i checked.. theres nothing.. hes on frontline... maybe he just got cut cuz they completely shaved him.? he never goes outside. sunday was the 1st time he went outside since the fall lol
i also read that white haired dogs scratch a lot more than any other dog after grooming.. i just feel bad for him

dont feel weird. the placei take him to... the owner dyes his dogs feet orange to make them look like uggs for the winter..

awwww sooo cute! I hope everything is ok with him.
Some of my cats have a problem that causes them to get scabs...they have OCD and they clean themselves constantly (like more than normal) and they eventually rip their fur out from cleaning so furiously. And they have scabs.
The medicine doesn't work for them either, so we just have balding cats. It can't hurt them though, it just looks unusual.
So if you can't figure out what it is, this may be something to consider & ask the vet about.
