George and I adopted a new baby girl kitten yesterday from North Shore!!! We named her Quinn and she is about 12 wks old. This is my first pet with FH so we are sooo excited.
For those who own cats, I just need some advice to calm my nerves. I am so scared to leave her alone during the day. FH and I both work and I feel so bad leaving her all alone. FH tells me not to worry, she will most likely sleep most of the day. Should I be worried or am I overreacting???

Nope-No need to worry. FH and I just got a kitten yesterday-still no name. She is a main coon-I will post pics soon. FH works 3-11:30pm, and I work during the day, but he is constantly running around-going to the gym, errands, ect, and she has free roam of the place, just as all of our animals do. She is 8 weeks and sooooo cute. Congrats and good luck!

Pls. Post some pics of all your new Babies!!!! I have 2 of my own that I apoted feom North Shore also. A Mommy and Baby. The Mommy 'Angel' got pregnant when she was 6 months old, and her baby Twizzler was the only survivng kitten. Probably b/c she was soo young. Post some pics, I will try to post pics of mine

Kittens can be left alone for some time. Cats/kittens are very curious and love to explore so your kitten will probably be into everything. Kittens also sleep most of the day too. My advice is to just spend as much time with her when your two gets home. Congrats. I love cats too!!

First off..congrats. and secondly..yes, you are over reacting lol..she will be fine alone...she will most likely sleep all day. I remember I felt guilting leaving my two dogs at home alone...but I KNOW all they do is sleep lol..I saw this show on TV once where a lady had like three dogs and when she was home they would mess up her house...ripping the sofa apart, fighting with eachother etc...so she was afraid to leave them at home alone...to make a long story short..they placed cameras in each room of the house, left the dogs loose and alone...and guess what....they didnt fight..they didnt ruin her furniture..all they did was SLEEP lol freaking dogs..

Cats are totally cool on there own just snuggle them when u get home and theyll love you - quite independent animals.

congrats on the new kitty. My cat will be 1 years old next month and I still feel bad leaving him home alone all day. I would ALWAYS suggest having at least two pets. I would love to get my kitty a playmate but it was hard enough getting my landlord to allow us to have one cat..he's severely allergic so I had to get a hypoallergenic breed..a Siberian cat named xander. Look how cute?

She'll be fine... Cats sleep 18-20 hrs a day anyway!! When you get home from work, just play with her a lot so she gets enough excersise and sleeps again throughout the night. My cat sleeps a lot, she'll be fine!!! Meow!

No need to worry...once you show her where her litter box is and give her a scratching post and some toys, food and water she will be fine. As some of the others have said she will probably find a warm spot where she will sleep most of the day. I just love kittens and think the only thing cuter is a baby so enjoy her.
