Does anyone know when the NY State Smoking ban goes into effect?

I heard mid-July, but I don't know the exact date.

I think it takes effect July 23rd. Not soon enough if you ask me!
I loved when there was no smoking in all the bars and restaurants. As a wife of a musician who gigs a lot in bars, it gets rough every weekend. Not to mention that our clothes just reek! It was so nice to walk out of places and not smell.
