My 30th birthday is this summer and I want to do something cool in NYC. My FH's birthday is the week before so I'm trying to make it for both of us. Any ideas of places we can get a VIP party room or VIP table?

There are soooo many places in Manhattan... What kind of an atmosphere are you looking for? Do you have a preference for location? I just went to VIG 27 last weekend (my friend is going to have her bday party there in 2 weeks, and she wanted to make sure it was a nice place), and it was very cute, and you can definitely reserve a table or the back room for a party. Give us some more info as to what you're looking for and I'm sure someone can come up with something!
I was originally looking for a dance club where we can reserve a VIP table...but most of the places I've checked out are like $500 a person!...so I'm thinking of perhaps a lounge/bar that has some dancing, but has a back room where we can have appetizers and cake, champagne, etc.
my fiances 30th bday is this summer too. we're probably going to hard rock cafe. places like that usually aren't to expensive. they have cool drinks there too, and everyone can pay for themselves.
