I've just started looking for venues and don't even know where to begin. So many venues in NYC are uber expensive. Can you recommend venues you have visited, attended weddings at or are having your wedding?!!
I am open to do evenings or afternoons. Saturday or Sundays- About 150 people!

My wedding was at Jericho Terrace . I had 150 guests on a Sunday evening. It was the best !
I visited Floral Terrace, Rivera (in Brooklyn), Inn at New Hyde Park, Roslyn Claremont and Nicotra's Ballroom in Staten Island and I ended up booking with Jericho Terrace. The best experience I can ask for !

my friend got married at Russo's and their food was great! Something to know though is that they do not allow outside vendors - but it's bec their in-house team is more than capable of satisfying your taste!

russos allows outside vendors with proper insurance.
Im having my bridal shower there. We were going to have our wedding there also but decided on a destination wedding. For a thurs night in aug I believe they wanted $85 pp with open bar (not including tax & tips)

I love my venue Westbury Manor and highly recommend it. Check out lots of pictures in my album. It is also reasonably priced and could easily accomodate your size party. I also recomend the following places:
In Nassau - The Swan Club - Fox Hollow - Crest Hollow Country Club - The Carltun ( more expensive, but stunning with incredible food) - The Woodlands - The Royalton at Roslyn Country Club - Carlye on the Green
In Suffolk: - The Vanderbuilt Mansion at Dowlling College - Chateau La Mer - The Old Field Club - Vineyard Caterers - Giorgios - The Watermill
