NYC BRIDES PLEASE HELP!

My friend is getting married at St Pauls Chapel at Colombia University. She is looking for a place to hold her rehersal dinner at a reasonable price of course. I am not familiar with the city so I can't help There would be 35 people.

Any ideas???????

If it's up by Columbia I think Carmine's has a restaurant right up there.

By Central Park on the west (I think in the high 60's) is an amazing restaurant called scalletta's - it mean stairs or something. I just went there and it was to die for.

In the area of Columbia---I LOVE Carmines (91st and Broadway)---great Italian food and fantastic ambiance. As a true italian--I normally HATE restaurant 'italian' food--but Carmine does a WONDERFUL job. Looks like their catered prices are $30 with cash bar, $42 with wine/beer/soda--here's the link.. All their food is 'family style'---huge dishes with individual plates for picking.

Great minds think alike!!

I went to Columbia and love the chapel!! I am not sure how close she wants to stay to it.

Both have great Italian food:
Ernie's-in the 70s or 80s westside
Cafe Taci-110th/Broadway

For Chinese:
Try Columbia Cottage. They give free wine and the food is really good.

I can name a bunch of places, I just need more info.

Thank you all! She is looking to stay very close, in walking distance if possible from the chapel.

She is going to look into Carmine, Taci and the Cottage, any others???

I am going to a bridal shower at Terrace in the Sky - it's a rooftop restaurant right by Columbia Univ....119th St b/w Morningside and Amsterdam.

Thanks Becks we were looking at that one too but she is afraid that it will be too expensive. But God is that place have some helL of a view!

I live right near Columbia - here are some recommendations:

Sezz Medi (122nd & Amsterdam)

Radio Perfecto (119th & Amsterdam)

Amsterdam Cafe (they just remodeled and reopened - they may have changed the name) - also about 122 & Amsterdam

Bistro Ten 18 (110 & Amsterdam)

Pisticci (LaSalle @ 125th)

Of all these places, Sezz Medi is the only one that I know for sure has a private room, although I think you may have some luck with Bistro Ten 18 as well (their dining area is in two connected, but still pretty separate, rooms). Pisticci is an adorable (and yummy) newish Italian place, but very small, so my thought is that she might just be able to take it over for the dinner.
