NYC co-op owners

I applied a few months ago for the real estate tax rebate the city was offering for property owners - I think it was $300. I know co-op owners were supposed to be last to get the checks but did anyone get their rebate check yet?

I don't own a co-op but I received my check about a month ago for a single family home.

I did some more investigating about this. Here's a website where you can put in your address to see if or when your check was mailed:

In my building, most of the apartments are listed and it says their checks were mailed on Oct 21. But, mine's not listed so I'm not sure what that means yet.

When did you fill out the STAR? Did you do it somewhat close to the Oct. 15th deadline?

I filled mine out the first week of October... and I looked my building up. I see a bunch of apartments that already got their check but mine wasn't included.

Hopefully they received the application. I actually sent it in TWICE to make sure they got it.

I think I sent my STAR app the last week of September so maybe we're included in the batch of late filers they mention that will be sent checks by the end of the year. Hope so.

I called their support number (212) 504-4080. Expect to wait on hold for a while.

They said they had my information and it was 'under investigation'... but it looks good. They said that everybody that already had STAR got their checks. But the people that just applied have to be patient and wait it out. Might be another month or two.

Just when I had given up hope of ever getting this rebate, I FINALLY got my rebate check in the mail yesterday! So, if you still haven't gotten yours, don't give up hope.
