NYC girls - need idea...NWR (sorry!)

My future step daughter will be 16 in a few weeks and her dad and I are trying to come up with a fun and different way to celebrate her Sweet Sixteen. We were thinking about taking her and 2 or 3 friends into NYC - maybe for dinner? Her sister got the Jekyll & Hyde party a few years ago, so we don't want to do that, but we want something interesting, age appropriate, fun and not TOO expensive. I was thinking Tony & Tina's Wedding....she's going to be a bridesmaid and has been a great scout for ideas and is very supportive and excited about it! Is it expensive and is it appropriate?

Or are there other places - a theme restaurant - that they might enjoy?

Any ideas at all...??? Thanks!!

Try Mars 2112...its great. When you are in side it looks like mars. There are game rooms...and star paraphernalia. The waiters/waitresses are dressed like martins its alot of fun.

how about the wax museum & hard rock cafe or planet hollywood? tony -n- tina's might be a bit too mature for young girls. there are some good broadway shows out now- thoroughly modern millie, contact, hairspray, forbidden broadway (off-bdway). or maybe a concert.

I take my teenage cousins into the city often. Some of their favorite things to do:

walking around the West Village, poking around the little shops, shoe shopping on 8th St, lunch at Johns Pizza or Cowgirl Hall of Fame

Virgin Records in Times Square (they can easily spend an entire day there!), lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe

they looooved high tea at the Plaza. I didn't go so I'm not sure of $$

they also love Chinatown, lunch at Joe's Shanghai, more shopping

If she's a Britney Spears fan, you could take them to Nyla, her restaurant inside the Dylan hotel in midtown. I think it may be pricey though. Another somewhat pricey option, if she's an N'Sync fan, you can take them to see Rent, which is now starring Joey Fatone.
