NYC Girls...How are you getting around with the strike??
As someone who used to work in Manhattan a while ago and someone who hated the commute on a 'normal' day..I cannot even imagine what this is like for you girls!

I am walking to and from work. Its only about 2.5 miles each way. The human traffic on the sidewalk is getting really bad though! I decided to skip the gym this week since I am walking

it stinks!!!! last nite it took dh and i over 3 hours to get home with a bus...it took an hour just to leave the city. didnt go in today...was home sick. tomorrow i'm driving to jersey near dh job. then i'll have to get on the path to get me into the city. this strike is going to be freakin expensive for people that have to make alternative plans

My colleague picks me up and it takes about 35 minutes to get from Forest Hills to East New York. I am really lucky - I feel bad for all you Manhattan girls.

The more I watch him..the more it seem like he has his own personal agenda for this strike!

I didn't even try yesterday and it took me 2 hours today, 1 hr. of standing on line for the LIRR and the rest train time and walking from Penn.
Although my company offered to pay for the extra cost, it's only about another $4 a day. It's more the time and waiting that's killing me. I'm still at work as I'm afraid to hit the lines again.

I use metro north now that I've moved to westchester and I have to say that I'm thankful that I don't have to stand on those lines to get on to LIRR. I'm happy to have my NYC world exist between 34th and 59th Street - for now. Walking in the cold gets old quickly.
