NYC Hotels?

My friend and her family are coming to the city in December. Any decent hotels that are affordable??

TIA!

I'm sure the prices go up in December b/c of the holidays. Go to hotels.com and put in nyc and sort it by price.
A less expensive option might be by the airports.

MANHATTAN is gonna be expensive. Maybe an econo lodge in the city, i know theres one downtown somewhere. Or look online for deals, you can get discounts if you book online

how about staying by an airport in queens?

Try the Blakely. It's in the 50's between 6th and 7th we have had our overseas people stay there and I actually did when NYC transit was on strike. It's a really nice hotel however I am sure even though it's on the less expensive side it's still expensive. NY in December = $$$$$$$$

if by chance they'll be coming into laguardia there is a nice marriot right by there...otherwise in manhattan and this time of year if you get a room for $400 its a deal

To be honest the room rates right now start at over $400. I am doing two programs in the city in December and our group rate is $500.

They are probably better off staying in Queens or LI. There is a Hampton Inn in RVC that is right next to the LIRR. Its a 35 min train ride so its not bad at all.

It's going to be $$$$$$$. I've stayed at the Marriot Marquis in Times Square. It was a nice hotel but the elevators are TERRIBLE.

They are the slowest elevators -- that is funny that you noticed that too. My co-workers think I am nuts when I say that.
