NYC hotspot???

Does anyone know of a good bar in Manhattan that is not a club but that has a dance floor??
I am going to BP this Saturday and we are having such a hard time choosing a bar to goto after dinner. See we have a group of about 11 girls half of us love to dance and the other half do not. Where can we go??

We went to One in the meat packing district not too long ago. Get a table next to the dance floor! It was fun (and there's the occasional celeb sighting too...Owen & Luke Wilson, some NY athletes, etc.) :)

There's the Fat Black Pussycat Lounge which as three areas - a bar, a lounge and a dance club downstairs called the Underground. I've been to this place Providence (in the 50s I think) that was a really good time.

I've always had a good time in places like Sutton Place, Mercury Bar, Tin Lizzy's, Mad River, etc ... but a lot of my friends won't go anymore because they feel like it's a college and under 21 crowd. Plus they're usually packed.

A friend of mine recently went to Hogs & Heifers and said the whole group had a great time - even mothers and aunts were there.

One thing I suggest is calling and creating a guest list wherever you decide to go so you don't have to wait on line. Sometimes you get benefits like discounted or free drinks and free admission. Not everywhere has this, but a lot of places do.

Definitely do this....we tried to get into the V Lounge (w/o calling beforehand) before we went to One and they looked at us as if we were nuts for asking that many people to come in! One was more accommodating, but we still had to cough up 20 or 25 bucks to get in...do the call before thing!

We're starting one BP at the Barcelona Bar (http://barcelonabarnyc.com) ... it's a shot bar, but they dress you up to the theme of the shot. They have pictures of it on the website.

There are a lot of good places down in the village. The Town Tavern, right next to the Fat Black Pussycat, on E 3rd St, is a good time. They don't have an actual dance floor (like some of the other places mentioned earlier) but, there is dancing and a good crowd.

ETA: Along the same route as Hogs and Heiffers is Red Rocks, in the meatpacking district I believe.
