Other than Grand Central Station, anyone have any ideas for cool locations for *indoor *photos in Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn (or Long Island for that matter)?
I wonder if any museums let you do this.

I doubt that a museum would let you take pictures anywhere that artwork is located. Maybe just in their lobby. I can't think of any place, sorry!

The NY Public Library, the Winter Garden, and I am pretty sure all of the museums require permits, and the Winter Garden quoted me a $500 site fee. I am not sure whether or not you need permission from the hotels as well.
I am not sure what types of photos you are looking to take, but you can probably take some real arty photos in the subways. Also, it is not indoors, but there is a covered section of the boardwalk at the end of South Street Seaport Promenade with views of the bridge.

The financial Center is really nice. They renovated but I think you might have to get a permit or some sort. Their policy now has changed ever since 9/11. Good luck.

MAYBE. I am very nervous about my photos. I didn't feel that the photographer was very creative that day. There are a lot of shots that I know for sure he missed and I have been very upset about that. It seems to be taking forever to get the proofs back, though.

Steps of Mets Museum, Post office by Penn Station, madison Square garden, Museum of natural history, Of course central park (you will have to go in the carriage), etc...

What about the lobby of some hotels? As a gag my friends and I took pics inside the Waldorf in their lobby. We were there for a good 1/2 hour. Maybe a hotel would let you...

Maybe FM Naunie - she did indoor ones at some kind of museum, and can't you do Old Westbury Gardens inside with a permit??

Winter garden is gorgeous! or even the time warner center, if they take the shot right, you get a nice background of columbus circle.
