NYC Marathon!
After many years of attempting entry through the lottery, I GOT IN THIS yEAR!!!!
This isn't my first marathon, but it's my first NYC and I am soooo excited! FH is purposely NOT running this year so he can support me while I run. (I supported him last year when he ran NYC, and he supported me the week before when I ran Marine Corps down in DC.)

Re: NYC Marathon!
Congrats! You'll run right past my block in Brooklyn so I'll have to hold up a sign for you. Good luck with the training!

Re: NYC Marathon!
Thanks Girls! Lunatrek, did he start training yet? He should start defintely by 4th of July. Hal Higdon offers a nice training program for beginners. I'm guessing his goal is to just finish, right? HEY, that's a great goal! That was my goal for my first marathon, and sometimes (tee hee hee) depending on how I feel, that is STILL my goal.
The best advice I can give is that he MUST LEARN HOW TO DRINK AND RUN AT THE SAME TIME! Very important to stay hydrated. And be sure to put in the hours for those long runs! It takes a lot of time to train for a marathon, but that feeling when your cross the finish line is one of the most exhilirating feelings in the world!

Yes, he's training... he is a triathlete, so he trains pretty much year round. Thanks for the running coach tip! I'll definitely let him know!Good luck, I'll be praying for endurance for you all!
