anyone else follow teachers college?

I really cant stand these stupid lesson plans..

when good readers read they...

watch me as I...

Today and everyday when you read....

arrgg.. what happened to making lessons interesting... my kids are so drilled with this.. i think if I gave them the teaching point, they could do the whole lesson word for word!

haha

what are your thoughts on it?

lol you guys are funny, they are stupid questions. When I first started teaching I used them, but now I have my own questions. Unless I'm being observed, I use the stupid questions

thanks i know..

i guess as a first year teacher you want to do everything the way its supposed to be..

but i did get all 4 observations done.. so i have been a little bit more lax with that stuff and try to put my own way into it.

I teach 8th graders in Brooklyn and quite often during writing worksop they are just goofing around til I come to their group...One of my favorite non-TC Conferring questions is:
'Seriously kid. What HAVE you been doing for the last 20 minutes?????'

We are using America's Choice. The problem is that these programs are not good for all types of learners. Some children do better with traditional teaching and some learn better with modeling and hands on learning. What frustrates me the most is that I have no choice in the matter.

I actually didn't think this way until this year. This is the first class that I have had that cannot handle balanced literacy and the freedom that comes with it.

I HATE lucy caulkins.. I HATE teachers college.. I hate watching her stupid videos.. and having to say ' Good writers' and 'Good readers' I think LIW girl teachers should come up with a new literacy program.. and the DOE will buy it b/c they buy into all of that crap!
