FH and I moved to LI this past weekend. We lived in NYC for 5 years-it was time to upgrade and get a bigger place for cheaper. We loved the city, but way to expensive...Our new apt is AWESOME, BIG and COZY. Slowly but surely we will get settled in.
Now, I just have to find a job on LI...the commute is going to kill me to NYC...

I commuted for ten yrs from the southern most part of LI to Soho everday!!! 1.5 hrs each way! OH WHAT A JOY! Serious im on the island now & I LOVE IT! MY commute 20 min each way.

Congrats on your move! I know you'll enjoy the change and love living on Long Island! I loved my move to the 'burbs!
I hear you about that commute! When I lived in Huntington I worked in East Midtown and the commute killed me every day! A lot of people said they liked it because they could catch up on their reading or sleeping but I hated being on the LIRR! Good luck in your job search!
