Re: NYC Venues

Not sure if you are considering the outer boroughs if so Staten Island has some beautiful places. My number one would be Nictoras hilton garden inn. Gorgeous ball room as well as and outdoor garden. Food was incredible!!!

I have also gone to the renaissance food was also very good and again the ball room very nice. Not sure if they have an outside because the wedding I attended was in January.

I also like the Vanderbilt and if you want a beach wedding or theme its perfect because it is right on the beach. I can't comment on the food though because I just glanced in side.

There is also Snug Harbor cultural center and Botanical gardens. Beautiful grounds and it has a old historic feel.

If none of these are up your alley check out wedding sites and services it should be able to help you with more venues in the city.

Re: NYC Venues

I always wanted a NYC venue, however after looking into a few I reconsidered. Many of these venues were empty spaces, only allowed 5 hour parties, or had additional charges like valet, tables/chairs, etc. I also felt it may be inconvienent for some of my guests from Long Island and Queens. I still want a NYC atmosphere. I found two place, which I am considering. Riverview in LIC and TWO in New Hyde Park. Both have lounge atmospheres, offer services of a catering hall, have very high quality food, and allow 6 + hour parties.

I loooooooove Tribeca Rooftop. We looked into it, but just couldn't fit it into our budget. But the place is absolutely stunning.

We loved our wedding at Tribeca Rooftop, and got a bit of a discount with an off-season month and some negotiation.

We also looked at the St George Ballroom - really unique.

my moh went to a wedding on Friday night.
It was in Central Park then the reception was on Betaux which is a boat that goes around manhattan. she said that the whole boat was glass so you had a view of manhattan from everywhere. They rented a few coach buses to bring everyone to and from LI.
It was small about 100 people. she said itwas one of the nicest weddings she's been too as it was so unique

Did you look at Bubby's or Riverview? The Waters edge is suppose to be beautiful too.

went to a wedding at the central park boathouse that was gorgeous. only problem is, the park is closed to cars on weekends, so you have to walk in to the park from 5th. or take the trolly, but it doesn't come very often.

Re: NYC Venues

We checked out (hope I can remember them all):
Bridgewaters
Manhattan Botanical Gardens
Manhattan Penthouse
Battery Gardens

and I've been to weddings at:
Roosevelt Hotel
Tribeca Rooftop
Astra

I ended up getting married at Water's Edge in LIC.

If you have any questions on any of the venues, let me know!

@ rdubs

could you tell me about your experience at The Roosevelt Hotel? I'm trying to find out more information on their service and food. I'm seriously considering it for my wedding but want to get some more reviews. Thanks so much!
