NYPD Academy question

2010 bride here:

my friend graduated the acadamy in june & i think he started mid january. he was a school teacher & i remember he resigned the end of december. i recall him having a little break in between. check the website

WOW. I would have thought they were provided - at least 1!

I'm not sure about the NYPD academy, but FH is currently in NCPD academy. Even if your FH does get the 'call' which is really paperwork in the mail, he has time to respond back, so it should be fine.

It's a great job (my dad is retired NCPD) but BE PREPARED!! LOL!! It's a lot of money in equipment, a lot of time running, working out, homework, studying. He is exhausted when he gets home.

I already told him I don't want a wedding present I want a 'the academy is over present'!! In the end it's worth it and it's a great job but we did have to cancel our honeymoon because they won't give him the time off. We booked about 10 days before he got the call

It also helps that they look sooo cute in their uniforms!!

They do get this money back at the end of the year....As uniform pay...

Fh and I are both officers...When I went into the academy my appoinment date was Jan 10th! A lot has changed since then, but they usually do it within the first and second week in january. No one ever knows the exact date until they get the official call. With this contract and all this extra money that PD is giving, its going to get really competative to get in. I hope he gets in, and I hope the academy doesnt start until after your honeymoon because the academy ***** and they are really strict on giving days off. Hopefully he doesnt miss the call either because they do things like call you the night before you are due to report to let you know that you have been accepeted. Good Luck! I will find out and let u know for sure, but it wont be til later this yr.
