NYPD exam

FH is taking it as we speak, b/c we read that FINALLY those city guys are going to be getting the money they deserve. Any other FH's taking it?

Well it's about time!! Fh was a city in the city for 8 years!!! He is now out here in Suffolk in the 1st!!

My DH is already a NYC Police Officer.
By August 2010 (I believe or its 2009) top pay will be 91k plus overtime ect..
The life style definitly is not easy but it is something to be so proud of being a police wife!
I met my DH while he was a cop so I didnt really have to adjust I knew what I was getting into..
But I found another website very similar to this one its www.policewives.org Its for families of police officers. Really cool site if he gets in!!

My BIL is going for NYC corrections now - has had to go to a million tests (psych, agility, medical, etc) and is taking off a lot of days to do it. I hope he gets in but on the other hand I don't want him to - they are selling their house and moving in with his mom to do it since the pay is sh!t. but if he doesn't get into corrections - which his investigator said he should have no problems with - he is going to take the NYPD test.

just so you gals know..the $91,000 would be for a cop that has close to 20 years on the job and includes night differential and holiday pay..starting pay i believe is going to be close to 40K..its still a good raise and we didnt have to give anything back.
