The only reason why they shouldn't wear it is if it has diamonds in it or they are in a special task force that is always out in the field, but for the regular patrol guys they can get a work one that is durable. Regardless if they have a ring on or not the skells of the earth will still make threats to them. Its the name of the game!

My DH is a NYPD Detective so I didn't think he would because his partners always teased him about it but he does. He had said while we were engaged that he wouldn't because he didn't want any of the people he arrests to know anything about him or in case something happened during a search warrant or take down but I guessed he changed his mind because he never takes it off! I think he wears his more than I do! lol

DH wears his, however he doesn't work Patrol because he is at the firing range. I think he would still wear it anyway. Its a tungsten band.

fh is not nypd- hes fdny. he is also an army vet and was in bosnia for a while. he will NOT wear a ring to work and he refuses to carry any pics in his wallet that will link anyone to his family. he has seen bad **** and if anything was to ever happen here... you dont want skells or terrorists to know you have a family and kids at home.
he is getting tungsten too for everyday:) he picked it cus he is a hunter and thats the bullets he uses
