Hello everyone, looks like it's going to rain today .

FH and I are currently looking at apartments to rent.

Which brings me to today's question: What type of place do you and FH want to ultimately own? What type of accommodations are you living in now, or if not living together yet, in the near future?

We found a studio apartment we can afford together, it just doesn't have a dishwasher, washer or dryer.I honestly thought I could never live without these things! But, at the moment it's all we can afford and it's better than living in the car.

Ultimately, FH wants to own a house, I like townhouses.

Were in a heated debate over this topic. I'd love to move out of NYC (we live in queens) to either westchester or the Hudson valley. I'd love to build a house on a piece of land bigger than the actual house. I feel like we can't get quite as much for our money in the city or even Long Island. I also feel like if we do decide to buy a house, we should buy an older outdated house, bc I'd want to do my own renovations and it seems silly to spend more on an updated home just to rip it apart.

FH feels that we should look for a condo or coop first, and then we can move into a house. He thinks we should buy a two family house. But I'm the one who knows how to do handywork, so guess who would basically be the landlord?! Lol.

In the end, we all know who is going to be the winner of this debate...and it's not him! Lol
