Re: O Wise Ones. . . .

you can expect to not be shown appreciation for the most part (even though they totally appreciate you and blah blah blah)

you can expect to always have the channel changed from what you were watching when your husband comes into the room

you can expect to never have the bed made unless you make it

you can expect to never be sick alone, b/c you husband will always try to out-sick you

if you are lucky like me, you can also expect to be called ugly (b/c it really means pretty ) and to be always told in the most honest way, when your cooking is and isn't up to snuff

Viva le marriage!

More than being married, it's the cohabitation that is the biggest change.
Jes is on the money about the TV and the bed.
You can also expect a sudden realization that he DOES expect you to be just like his mother.

and that need/expectation will also bring to you all the other feelings he has about his mother.

you'll be annoying. you'll be nitpicking. you'll be too much in his business.

and you'll feel asexualized. and never be as hot as the single girls that he sees. that arent his mother. (unless he were to marry them then the same thing will happen) even though you really are. and then some.

but it won't matter...b/c it's the puppy in the window, kid in the candy store syndrome.

no matter what, being married means you are missing out on some things...even if what you have is awesome.

we are human, and we want what we are told we can no longer have.

Honestly, I didn't find married life all that different from engaged life. It seemed all that changed was my name. But since you guys aren't living together yet, well there will be some troubles as you 2 adjust to your new life together. Expect to fight, about the stupid stuff as much as the big stuff. They say the first year of marriage is the hardest, it's true. Don't expect everything to be 'happily ever after', that doesn't just happen because 'you're married now'; you have to work HARD and EARN your happiness and successful marriage TOGETHER.

Oh and one last thing, after all is said and done and you're home from your HM you might feel a little sad that it's over, you might even get depressed. Keep in mind that he may be feeling the same way, it'll be your first hurdle together as a married couple.

Now go have a wonderful wedding, enjoy your HM, and bask in every special moment!!! Just don't forget to post pics when you get back!!!!!

expect that he will have this unexplainable urge to undress from the time he walks in the door until he reaches the bedroom - leaving a trail of socks, t-shirts, hats, work pants, etc. through the living room

expect to get into fighst about the dumbest things like when to use a paper cup, when to throw the garbage out, that when the hamper is full it means stop stuffing stuff in there

dont want to be all negative the day before you tie the knot....
he does do the dishes if i cook
he wil, not always but every now and then ask what i need help with around the house
expect to still have date nites
expect A LOT of lovin! lol

expect to learn the art of patience.
expect to have your relationship change. not necessarily good or bad - it just got different after the wedding.

expect to fight about the dumbest things on earth.
expect to learn to 'find' your roles - this wasnt always easy.

also - always remember to be kind to each other. its not always easy - its sometimes too easy to take out frustrations on each other. also remember that family is Very important - but he is now your homebase - dont let too many other family members be a top concern.

enjoy your day - i wish i could get married again - it was hands down the happiest day of my life. enjoy every second of it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....my favorite part of being married is my new alarm clock.

Rich wakes me up with a hug and a kiss every morning . I haven't used an alarm clock in months!!!

This thread is a riot. I think I am going to leave this one alone.

Honestly Everything is the same yet everything is different
If that makes any sense.

Re: O Wise Ones. . . .

It's definitely great to finally get to live together (if you haven't already). And there are definitely pluses, like finding 'I love you' notes in your lunch bag at work, and having someone to take care of you when your sick. and all that good stuff that goes along with marriage.
But, there are also the moments that some of the other posts mentioned, like when he gets annoyed that you asked him to put his socks in the hamper and stuff like that. But the nice thing is that even when you have silly fights, he's still your best friend and you get to spend the rest of your life with him. Best wishes!!!!
