obedient DJ (attn: rocker brides)

i'm having issues with finding a DJ bc FH is a musician and has some very specific ideas about what he does and does not want played. DJs (on the other hand) have been pretty stubborn about keeping their top 40 pop/dance playlists, and we have zero desire to hear anything played on z100 or at the clubs @ our wedding.

we basically want a DJ who will stick to motown and classic disco for dance music and, most importantly, will respect our musical wishes. any recommendations?

We kinda have the same problem, i don't listen to z100 or stations like that, we really don't want it played at the wedding, but most of the songs we like, really won't get people up and dancing (and also aren't wedding appropriate lol) I think we're going to just give a small list of certain songs that we really don't want played. we haven't looked at DJ's yet but its next on the list, so it should be interesting.
