have you tried on the mermaid one yet? That is the only way you will know if you can move and dance in it.... You want to look beautiful-- but you MUST be comfortable too.

I don't have a mermaid style dress, but I'm sure you can still get a beautiful dress. I would just get a move on it though.

My dress is from Macy's in Manhasset. They carry only Demetrios for bridal gowns and I believe that line has some mermaid styles. The ladies there are also really helpful!

unfortunetly i am a very indecisive person and getting this dress is making me go crazy!- i cannot choose btwnt he traditional bridal gown (ballgown or a-line) or the mermaid/trumpet- i wanted to be different adn get the mermaid ---but am having so much trouble-- one person tells me since the location is chateau briand ishould be wearing a a-line or ballgown
so much imput and still no decision!

You need to try different styles on and see which one you feel the most comfortable in. You will know when you try it on if it is for you or not!! Good Luck!

Same here! You'll be fine, just shop around and find a dress that's beautiful and comfortable!

I KNOW THIS SOUNDS A LITTLE NUTS, BUT I BOUGHT 2 DRESSES ONE FOR THE CEREMONY AND ONE FOR THE RECEPTION SO I CAN MOVE AROUND. ALOT OF THE MAGGIE SOTTERO DRESSES ARE BEAUTIFUL DID YOU TRY THERE. BY THE WAY CONGRATS!!!! I'M GETTING MARRIED THE SAME DAY

I think if you decide on a mermaid/trumpet you could totally wear it if your wedding is at Chateau Briand. Personally, I would pick a dress you love, don't worry about whether it 'suits' the place. Melissa Sweet/Priscilla of Boston had a lot of mermaid gowns and more traditional cuts, so that is a good place to look depending on your budget. Lazaro has some AMAZING mermaid gowns also!!!

It is not about being indecisive! Everybody is like that when it comes to picking wedding stuff! ( well, I know I am )

Relax, you have PLENTY of time!

Ok, I am a Chateau Briand bride too and I don't think you have to have an a-line or ballgown dress! I would say just to get the dress that you LOVE and feel best in - regardless of the style. I *think* that when you find the ONE, you will know. Don't let outside influences affect your decision on your dress.

On a side note, can I ask where your church is? Is it on LI? In Manhattan?

I say try it on first. I fell in love with a dress from a photo, but I tried it on this weekend and it wasn't for me. I went with a totally different dress and love it. I actually brought it home already. I was dancing around in it. You have to be comfortable in it, remember that you'll be wearing it all day long. Good luck!!!

BTW - I'm freaked out that I have my dress already, so you have plenty of time to get 'the One'. We still have 8 months to go baby!!!!

congrats! i'm getting married in October too. Don't drive yourself crazy with the dress. Especially if youre working and going to school. Try on a few different styles and see what you feel comfortable in. I think I overdid trying on dresses to the point where everything started to look the same and I couldn't make a decision.

Try looking at Lea-Ann Belter Bridal dresses. I tried a bunch of them on that I loved. They are a little different than the other dresses. She also has a few trumpet style dresses that were really nice. She will also work with you to make the dress exactly how you want it. Good Luck!
