I have never been more confused in my life!...buying this dress is making me go nuts
! Where did you get yours...what style?
i live in Brooklyn, so my parish is not far from my house. Are you taking pics at chateau or going somewhere else?

I was really confused picking them out too. I was going for the ballgown look but I almost bought something that was more of a mermaid/A-line. The dress I ended up with was a little different, but it also had features that I liked about some of the other dresses I had tried. The pictures are in my album.

I am taking pictures at Old Westbury Gardens. The church, OWG and my house (where the reception is) are all about 5 minutes from each other. I'm so glad we don't have to travel.

And I got my dress at Adrienne's in Islip.

Hey, I didn't buy my gown until the last week of December and my wedding is June 3rd. Just make sure that the salon knows when your wedding is--from what I understand, you can get pretty much any dress in four to six months. Some dresses do take longer, like Maggie Sotteros, but I hear that's because she makes them for your date--if she has ten months to make the dress, she takes ten months to make the dress!

And make sure you try on an assortment of gowns, not just mermaid styles. I was thinking I'd get an A-line lace dress with a sash, and ended up with a beaded satin ballgown. When I put on the ballgown I felt like a bride . In the A-lines, I felt like I was wearing a very pretty dress. It's my wedding day, I wanted to feel like a bride. So, try on several types--you may very well go with a mermaid style, but at least you'll know. You don't want to end up like some of the brides on here who decide they hate their dress when it comes in and then have to find a second gown!

One thing I've learned from friends weddings and now planning my own, try on everything, even if you just like it a little. You usually wind up buying something you would have never pictured yourself wearing. All the dresses that I thought I wanted, I hated once I tried them on.

I understand about the time thing but you can try on a lot of dresses in 1 hour!!

Good Luck!

Oh yeah, it seems like once or twice a week here you see a bride saying that she hates her dress but she saw another one that she loves and should she go and buy it. My FH would kill me! But then I think some girls feel pressured into choosing something, because they've tried on a lot of dresses but haven't found 'the one.' And I think that after you've tried on a lot they begin to all look the same, so they choose one and later have regrets.

However, I love my gown, and although it's not what I was thinking of before I started trying them on, I refuse to have regrets or second thoughts. There's too many other things to choose and order with this wedding!

Good luck! I'm sure you'll find the dress of your dreams.
