October Bliss

So, have you guys gotten your mortgage worked out yet for closing?

Re: October Bliss

Well, let's see . . . this morning they 'said' we are cleared to close this Friday. The bank 'said' that the thing they were waiting for on Friday was something they actually already had in their possession but it needed to be reviewed by underwriting. I am waiting to hear back from one other person at the bank.

In the meanwhile, I sent my attorney an email to confirm b/c I don't trust the bank, and he said things look good and to set up the walk through with my real estate agent. NOW it looks like the seller isn't out yet, and won't be until Saturday, which means we won't close on Friday after all. This after the agreement that he would be out on 10 days notice, which he got for last Friday's closing - so this entire week is actually EXTRA time and now he wants another day/weekend.

ETA:

To make myself feel better I ordered this wallpaper border to decorate the baby's room - whenever it is we get in.

ditto, but you know you can still close even if the current owners are in the house/condo/townhouse.

Check with your mort. company, but I believe if they are staying there after closing, they pay a fee per day.

We changed the contract to require the owners to get out on 10 days notice prior to closing. My attorney does not want to close w/ seller still living there - too much can go wrong. Since we were supposed to close on August 15, we gave seller notice to be out on August 3. There is no good reason for the seller to be there.

Hmmmm, I would say Kerry's right, normally they charge a fee if the seller isn't out 5 days after closing. But if it's been addressed in your contract then I don't know what the problem is!!!

And that's adorable wallpaper, gotta love Bambi!!

Re: October Bliss

Our days leading up to closing were so frustrating I was pulling my hair out and on edge every single day.
The bank lost our paperwork for our clearance, among other things!

Anyway - everything worked out, just as it will for you! These are just some bumps along the way, but soon you will be in your new place - and have an adorable baby's room - love the wallpaper!
