Where is everyone going on their honeymoon? We were suppose to go to Hawaii, but FH is very nervous about flying for so many hours. Any suggestions where we could go and the plane ride isn't more than 5 hours? TIA

We're going to Hawaii... why don't you fly to LA or San Fran and stay over a night both there and back... that way it isn't tooo much?

We were interested in Hawaii, but we didn't want to be on a flight that long either. We're going to Aruba. The weather is supposed to be beautiful all year round, and it's outside of the Hurricane belt.

Originally we were going to Greece, however the thought of that right now gives my mom heart paltations. So we are now going on a cruise for a week and then a week in Aruba.

When is hurricane season? We will be on our honeymoon last week of October into November.

We're going to Acapulco for a week and Puerto Vallarta for a week. They're on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, so they're out of the Hurricane Belt.

Hurricane season is something like late August right thru the end of November. It effects the Carribean right up the east coast. So places like the islands, and Bermuda can be impacted.
The nice thing about Aruba is that it is right outside of the Hurricane belt, so it can't ruin your honeymoon!
Also, the flight is about 3.5 - 4 hours I believe.

Re: October brides
I believe October is still hurricane season but the hurricanes will know not to dare step foot on wherever you choose to go. Same with all us girls. i would say try somewhere in the western carribean. very affordable and not too long of a flight.

Re: October brides
We were married last October, and we went to Sandals in St. Lucia. We had the best time, not only was it closer than Hawaii, but they call it the 'Hawaii of the Carribean'. Any questions on it, you can FM me, would highly recommend it and we went through a great TA, she got us a great deal. (also, they havent had a hurrican in something like 40 years, it rained one day the entire week).

We went to Hawaii, but did not fly direct. We made 1 stop for a few hours then continued on. It really helped to have that little break. We just walked around the airport, had a bite to eat.
Please don't rule out Hawaii. It's totally worth it!!!
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

We are going to St. Lucia.
The travel agent we spoke to said that the last two weeks in September is prime hurricane season...but since we are doing Sandals, they give you the guarantee that if there's a hurricane you can go back for free!
