October Brides

Just a quick question for all October brides.....When are you mailing your invitations out?? We are having a very big wedding (450 on the guest list, as of now) and I know from the engagement party people either respond very quickly or you have to track them down. So I have a September 1st response date on the invites, but I still am not to sure when to mail them. Any help is appreciated!!

We're sending out about 105 invites, but are expecting about 140 or so to attend. We're mailing them out the first week of August, asking for a return date in the second week of Sept.

I can't beleive so many don't rsvp - I'm not looking forward to making those awkward phone calls!

To be totally honest, I had my mom & MIL make most of the calls for the engagement party - I felt really embaressed to do it myself - although the people that didn't respond should have been embaressed!!

We are sending ours out in Aug also. Then the beginig of Sept for RSVP. We expect to do alot of chasing too. We are sending out about 125 invatations.

we are starting Aug 12 for Oct. 12 wedding, with RSVP beg. of Sept. We have a B list so are hoping some of the nos respond right away so we can send out more invites.

I know I'm sending mine early... our date is 10/27 and i will probably send them out mid to late July. Reason being that we have many people out of state and country who we know are coming but we would still like to follow the formality of sending an invite and receiving a response card via the mail. Also, many of our guests travel frequently due to work/personal reasons and i wanted to give them enough advance notice.

My Wedding Date is Oct 4. I am going to Mail the Invitations by Aug 4th and my response date is Sept 14th.

I got married last October 6. I mailed mine out Aug. 7 and had the RSVP date of Sept. 8. Of course, we still had to call people and I never got back some cards -- those are the ones who say 'you know I'm coming' and are always relatives!!! LOL :)

I'm getting married Oct 13th.

I'm mailing my invites out the first week of August with a reply date of Sept. 13th...

luckily my invitations came in with no typos and are perfect...so I just need to stuff the envelopes!!

It is definitely getting close. I can't believe it's almost here! BM's dresses are in, invitations are in, favors are in....I just need my dress which I'm starting to freak out about.

Has anyone started getting fittings yet?

Plans are coming along well! We just went today and picked out our menu and cake. That was fun! My dress is in but I am not going for a fitting until the beginning of September. I would like to start invitations and finish making my favors this weekend, we will see though!

How are your plans coming?

My first fitting is Friday!!!

My next big item is invites. I have them all decided on but I just need to put in the order. It scary.

I just paid 50% of my catering bill so that was a huge payment!

Everything is done except limos and my dress needs to come in. It was shipped from the manufacturer on July 1st so it should come soon. (I hope!)

I need to stuff my envelopes as well. And, my mom is hand addressing them because I don't feel like paying extra for the caligraphy. I'm probaby being cheap....but I have other things I'd rather splurge on!

I can't believe it's almost here! Have any of you had your bridal shower yet?

Thanks for all the tips Ladies!!!

No bridal shower for me yet!!

My first fitting will be in August (i think too early, I'm on a diet since April 1st & lost 33.5lbs and want to lose some more).

I will probably mail my invites 1st week of August and everything else is done.

I seems it takes forever to save all the money for the wedding, but once you start paying all the vendors, spending it all is really fast!!

Go Kathy with your weight loss! Congrats, that is great. I lost about 15 pounds in the last few months but I want to lose at least another 15-20 before the wedding too.
