October brides, how is it going?

Original post by sandj100304

Today is 7 months until my wedding. I feel like there is still so much more to do. How are you girls doing?

YAY.. We all finally agreed on a BM dress. Most of my BM's picked out a Bridal Impressions dress that posted about BUT when my sister, my MOH saw it she didn't care for it. I showed her a Jordan Dress that i loved ( THANKS TO JULZ33 post) and she loved it. Everybody finally agrees. They will be going to get sized!!!

I havent done STD's dont think they may happen at all... but if we do, we're going to go to Chinatown and pick up Postcards and use those as STD's instead of making or buying professional ones.

I FINALLY nailed down our honeymoon.

Still have no limos..

Need to corner my MOH for the dresses still

Shoe shopping (sorta)

Will buy our Favors by the end of this month

Need to re-start the search for invites

I keep looking at my budget and fidgeting

That's hysterical because there are all my sentiments exactly, except I have no honeymoon either.

Sometimes I feel like I have so much time, others I'm like... UH OH!

When I think about my budget... well... I wanna vomit!

I feel kind of comfortable with what we have left, but there's is still a decent amount of stuff we have to do:
finalize HM plans
buy wedding bands
tux rentals
bridal accesories- shoes, veil, undergarments
flower girl basket/ring bearer pillow
invitations
favors
programs
and I'm sure there are lots of little things I'm forgetting about

Where did you get the shawls? I was thinking of doing that for my girls if the dress they get doesn't come with a shawl.

i got the shalls from The Cashmere Company

the shawls were really nice, i ordered black ones and they have a bit of a sheen to them, they are silk and cashmere. i got the smaller shawl and i think they were 39 a piece...i may order one for myself....

I have a lot done, thankfully because we are in contract for a house and should be closing late May early June. I still have some things to do but at least most of the planning is done. I have to admit, it is so stressful that I am actually asking my mom for more help than I had wanted too. Unfortunately, his family could care less they are good at comments and bad at help. (Sorry, had to vent).

Hello, ladies!

I'm going to make you all feel so much better about yourselves--I'm an October bride and I have nothing done at all! FH and I got engaged on Valentine's Day and we're planning a NY wedding from California. So we finally managed to get back there to see places and we only booked a hall and a date TODAY!

I feel like I have to do a million things instantaneously--and I guess I do!

Re: October brides, how is it going?

Welcome & Good luck laudipop.

There are a few people here that have planned in 7 months or less, so it is possible.
You do have to sort of do everything at once, though. I started planning in January and found a few things booked, but there are tons of vendors if you keep looking.

I feel like I just started getting anything done. I booked the photographer 2 weeks a go, blocked rooms, booked the band this week & switched churches this week. And I ordered my veil last week & it came this week.

Oh, and I found my favor. I will order them this week.

Now I have to book a limo, a night of hotel, honeymoon ( almost positive on a cruise)
and find invitations.
I am waiting for my MOH to go to David's & try on the 3 dresses I picked & hopefully pick one of them!

Re: October brides, how is it going?

I'm releaved to hear that other October brides haven't sent out STDs yet. I wanted to send them out in January (LOL) because our wedding is on a Sunday. But between ordering them and finalizing the guest list they haven't gone out. They are currently sitting in a shopping bag addressed because we changed our hotel for the guests. FMIL is having the RD at the Marriott and they gave us a much better rate on the rooms since we're having an event there. I need the cards (w/ block info) so that I can re-stuff them. (When FH went there on Friday, they weren't ready.)

Tell me about it! We are still trying to finalize the guestlist. I think this is the worst party of wedding planning - everything else is fun!

I am coming up to LI this weekend to book a florist and find BM dresses. This is the last of the BIG decisions, then I have to move on to the smaller stuff!
