october is breast cancer awareness month!

Just thought maybe we could have a little thread dedicated to those we have lost or those we love who survived!

I lost my aunt after a 15-year battle with cancer that started as breast cancer and matasticized to the bone.

My mother is a survivor! 1.5 years cancer-free!

In memory of Catherine Grillo who lost her battle on 10/1/1995... Miss you Aunt Catherine!!
And for Judy O'Connell! A true survivor! Aunt Judy... YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

I lost my beautiful mother when she was only 45 to breast cancer that had spread to her brain. And she lost her father when he was young to breast cancer that had spread to his bones. I was tested for the BRCA gene and have it. So I am having a double mascetomy and reconstruction of the breasts soon to try to prevent getting it. It cuts my chances down by 90%. And with the gene, if you get breats cancer, it raises your chances of getting a second form of cancer by alot....so I wanna do everything I can NOT to get it in the first place.

My FH is sooooooooo understanding thank god.
I miss my mom sooooooooooooo much!!!

Office staff members may wear denim to work on this day, in return for a $5 contribution. Funds will be donated to the Women's Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which spearheads this event.

My grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer almost 20 years ago. I am so lucky that my engagement ring has the diamond from her ring!

My other grandmother is a survivor and is doing so well.

My mom had breast cancer 5 years ago and it recently came back in her bones. It seems to be spreading more and will probably have to begin chemo soon. She is a fighter though and has an amazing attitude...she is my hero. Please pray for her and that I will be able to have her in my life for years to come.
