I guess it would be polite to send something but not necessary.

Re: Odd Question
I've heard sometimes, but I'm not counting on it. To be honest, I've only done it w/people that I was close with whose weddings I couldn't attend

Re: Odd Question
Sometimes. I always make sure I send something if we have to RSVP no. I now know how much people put into planning events like this, so I appreciate being invited to spend the day with them.

Re: Odd Question
Sometimes, they will send a check, it depends on the person. I didn't know you should/could until last year!

Exactly. Ive had a few 'No''s who sent their RSVP back with a check...but Ive also had some 'no's' without any checks...so it depends..but its not mandatory

Re: Odd Question
it depends.... i have to say most people that said NO for our wedding still sent gifts. some of the NO people were aunts and uncles who live abroad and the gifts were substantial...even better than some of the gifts we got from people from the wedding. i think it really depends on your relationship with the person that cannot attend.

Re: Odd Question
I had about 7 or 8 people who can't come send a check. Most didn't send any gift.

Ditto. But I know of people that have RSVP'd no JUST to not buy a gift.

Re: Odd Question
Sometimes they do. I mean, even though I can't go to someone's wedding, I'll usually still send them something.
