Odd question...

For those who are married already, did your dress get really dirty on the bottom after wearing it all day?

My train did a little when I was walking on the grounds taking pictures. It was a detachable train though so it didnt bother me.

Umm..define really dirty.

I walked all over NYC in the thing and it was not as dirty as I thought it would be...but I wouldnt say it was 'clean' either.

On a related note, I made sure that my dress was just a tad bit shorter than the standard hem when bustled because I didnt want to be tripping over it when we did our dance. So that could be the reason it didnt get filthy.

No not at all...actually the dry cleaner asked if I even wore it it was so clean!! LOL...and Im usually bringing in stuff to him with spots here and there!! I was very proud of myself for not having a dirty dress!!

Thanks..I was just curious since I have a HUGE train (cathedral) and a french bustle that hangs a little below normal hem line to create and sweep look. I see some major hem dirt marks in my future!! Just wondering what the norm is...

The bottom of mine is dirty, not as dirty as I expected, b/c we were at Old Westbury Gardens. It was bustled so it did not get too dirty.

Why did you ask??

Mine got pretty bad. The front was an organza overlay, on top of satin, and the organza ripped because two people (in separate instances) stepped on my dress. In retrospect I should have had it hemmed a little more.

Underneath my gown was dirty on the bottom just from walking around all day, but not too bad.

mine was VERY dirty, I even had dirt on the train - but it was also POURING rain so it was pretty unavoidable. Then, I went to the bar in my dress and that was the end of that!

Mine was pretty dirty. Also, I had a lot of tulle and a lot of bugs got stuck underneth the layers. That was pretty annoying.

I walked on the beach with mine and the bottom was alittle dirty. Not that bad though. My shoes were worse.

The bottom of my dress got pretty dirty, and to be honest it made me a little happy when it did. I stopped worrying about getting it dirty and went on with the day with the dress in tow :)
