Yeah, this one's a little weird, so if it makes you uncomfortable you don't have to respond. haha. I don't get awkward with stuff like this - so I'm gonna go ahead and ask for a little advice in this area...
Basically, my menstrual cycle is a steady pattern (every 28 days). I've done the math, and I am due to receive this 'lovely little surprise' only two days before my wedding.
My question is if anybody knows how to help this little problem. There is no way that I wanna deal with that issue while wearing my wedding gown and being so active that day (not to mention the wedding night)
I'm beginning Yaz birth control Early November. I heard that you can stop a cycle just by switching around pills, so I was pretty confident in that. However, somebody just recently told me that it may not work because only 2 months will not be enough time for my body to be used to the pills (and i don't have enough pills to begin it earlier, nor do I have Health Insurance right now to visit an OBGYN) So now i'm kinda nervous.
Does anybody use Yaz and can let me know if that's true? If I am really unable to stop the cycle from coming that month?
Or does anybody else know any sure fire ways to get it to come EARLY even?? Cause if i can get my next 2 cycles early, then it'll come weeks before my wedding anyhow.
Weird post, i know - but i'm desperate. lol. I really, really, really don't want it on my Wedding Day.

It is not a weird post -- questions like this come up all the time!
I do not take Yaz but I am on BC Pills. To be honest everyone is different and react differently to the pill. It is perfectly safe not to get your period so you can contiuously take the active pills and never get it. I will do this so I don't get it on our honeymoon and have done it in the past.
I have been on it for years so a few months ago I played around with with to readust my cycle and it was fine. But being you will be new to the pill you really have no way of knowing how your body will react.
Is there anyway to get your prescription for earlier then November?

I went on the pill a month before my wedding for the same reason- I was supposed to start the first day of our honeymoon. it worked, but I still had to keep some tampax lights around because there is the risk of spotting- and your prolly will. But its still better than being on your period!
ETA: Either skip the placebo pills or start them a week later than you should. maybe that will delay it from starting and possibly delay any spotting too.

thank you for the advice. I'm definitely gonna just play with the pills that month and PRAY it works. Go figure I'm due right on my wedding, i always knew something crappy like this would happen Hopefully it works.
And, no, i can't get anymore to begin earlier than November. My Health Insurance is up now and won't be back until January. So I only have enough till that point, when I can get to a dr and receive a new prescription. I HATE that you can't just go and pick some up over the counter. Then I'd definitely go buy some more and begin it now. But to visit a dr and all that... i just don't have the extra $$$

what do you mean? Should I take the placebo pills a week later than i should the month BEFORE? like do it in November so that my cycle will already be thrown off a bit?? Or is that just bad for my body and won't even be effective??

I skipped my period for my HM while I was on Yaz. I just started the new pack immediately after the old one.
I just noticed you said youre just starting the pill. Ive been on the pill for years now so Im not sure if it would work. I think 2 months is enough time. It wont hurt to try.

When I was on YAZ I NEVER got my period. That seriously freaked me out, so I switched. Some people loved that side-effect, but it just made me paranoid that I was pregnant. I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo now and love it. I skipped my period for the wedding. just don't take the placebo pills, start the new pack right away, and you won't get it. I'd do it the month before your period, so you get it early. Good luck!

I'm on Yaz and had tons of problems when I switched - I actually spotted a lot the first couple months!
Plan to get your period 2-3 days after your last pink pill.. . you can play with the pills - if you skip the placebos you won't get a full period, but you probably will spot, especially a few days after you expected to get it.
It might take a few months for your body to get used to it

I was on the pill 2 months before and my body was not adjusted. I ended up spotting 2 days before my wedding and all the way through....sorry..but unless you start earlier...I have no other suggestion!

Re: odd question.. deal with it. lol
I'm thinking that I'm going to begin the Yaz in October instead of November. That's almost 3 months of it before the Wedding. And I'm going to try and make it late by taking it a week later than directed. That way maybe after 2 cycles it'll be at least a few days late and then I don't even have to worry about it. It's worth a try, i guess.
Jeez, I wouldn't even mind spotting during that day, just as long as it's not it's usual annoying self!!

they are all right just skip the sugar pill and start taking the next pack instead.-- you can also go to plan parenthood they are pretty low cost you pay on a sliding scale on what you can and they can help until you get your insurance back again.
