Of all of the wedding decisions I made, this was the best
Many of you know that I was supposed to be married in May 2002 and when we found out that my husband's father was terminally ill, we decided (just in case) to move the wedding up to December. We had a perfect, beautiful, meaningful wedding and my father-in-law was there to enjoy it and he had a great time. Unfortunately, he passed away Sunday night, unexpectedly. We are still in shock, and it's been a very rough week. My husband is in terrible shape. But we are happy that we had the sense to move the wedding and there are pictures from the wedding covering the house for everyone to see and to re-live happy times that we were able to spend with him. I agonized over decisions I had to make for our wedding (you are all familiar with them!) But this all puts things into perspective - the most important decision I made was to do anything I could to be sure that my father in law was there to see us get married. The most important thing about all of this is to keep in mind, in the end, what getting married really means - the joining to two hearts and two families, and a celebration of your love amongst all the important people in your life.

I'm very sorry
Sara, I'm very sorry for you and your husbands tragic loss. The memories of your wedding day will be even more special when you remember becoming one with each other and the joy of having his father there to share the moment with you. My condolences.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know words can never help ease the loss you feel right now, but I remember when you decided to move the wedding up. I really admired your decision, and thought it was so brave of you both. please remember that although you don't know us here personally, we are here for you too. We are all connected in a 'wedding way' here, and we all can lend an ear.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You were so courageous and brave to move up the wedding-I wish I had (my grandmother just recently passed away). Remember, your 'wedding friends' are all here for you.

My thoughts on your words...
I don't know you, but from your postings on the situation, I can tell (as I'm sure we all can tell) that you are a kind and caring person, and that you have a beautiful soul. We are all sorry for your loss, but we know that your love will see you through. You are looking at life perfectly, and to be able to do that is a great gift. Good luck to you and your husband.

So sorry for your loss *NM*
I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is tough whether it is sudden or if they have been battling an illness. I hope you find comfort in each other and the fact that you made sure he was a part of your special day. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.Welcome New Vendors
