Off-site Priest

Hi All. FH and I are looking for a priest to preform our wedding at an offsite location. Has anyone book a priest or been to a wedding with a priest that you would recomend?

Thanks

don't go just by me BUT

as far as i know. . .RC priests will only marry you in a church - only a CHRISTIAN pastor will marry you in a hall

as far as i know a catholic wedding must be performed in a catholic church with no exceptions

i could be wrong BUT i know a few couples that were both RC but got married by a pastor bc of that

ant n tilde is right...

if you are looking for a Catholic priest to perform a Catholic ceremony, they will NOT do it outside a Catholic church. Many of these priests that do off-site weddings do them in the Catholic 'tradition' but it is NOT recognized by the Church as a Sacrament and it is NOT recognized as a valid marriage in the eyes of the Church. many of these priets that do this for money are de-frocked priests or priests who have left the Church. if you don't mind if your marriage is not a sacrament or valid in the Church, these off-site priets are fine, but if you do want that, you will have to be married inside a Church by a practicing priest or deacon.

GOOD LUCK!

Agree.

We had our ceremony at the hall and had one of the RC Priest that left the church, so it's not recognized by the church, but in our eyes God recognizes it. We do and are in the process of having ours recognized by the church.

With all that being said I HIGHLY recommend Father Tom McCormick. He was definitely prayers answered for us. FM me if you would like more info...he's also a vendor on here and can be found under vendors...officiants.

We are using Father Joe DeVincenzo..he is a vendor on this site listed under interfaith weddings. He does a lot of interfaith weddings with a Rabbi he works with. But we are just using him (FH & I are both Catholic). He is a Catholic Priest and recognized by the church. He has been wonderful. Very sweet and down to earth.

Keep in mind that your marriage will not be recognized by the church, only the state. FH & I don't really care about that.

FM me if you want more info.

This is correct, interfaith or ministers but it isnt considered a 'sacrament' outside of a church either, you MUST be married in a church for it to be one.

Hi Ladies,
Thank you all soo much. We are okay with the ceremony not being recognized by the Church b/c we will be re-married after the honeymoon in a church and it will then be recognized.

I will contact the two father's that you have suggested. Again, thank you all soo much!
