off topic but is anyone worried about ex's of their fh ????

I know this is off topic but please bear with me I am new at this trying to plan everything really just getting started I have this problem with my Fh ex I know they had this great relationship very exciting (you know what I mean ) I am worried does he tell her he is getting married or not do we invite her? we are very secure now and I think she is married also ( when they were together she was married to someone else ) and that is the reason their relationship ended since she was married he couldnt take it but I know he was madly in love with her at the time. so I guess I'm just curious do any of you worry about ex's ? I guess maybe I'm just getting nervous with all the stress of planning everything thanks in advance for reading this I know I am a silly girl

IMO opinion I dont think it is necessary to invite her to the wedding. I am still very friendly with one of my ex's, but it is only e-mails and phone calls every few months hi, how are you, hows your family; that kind of stuff (which DH knows about -- I have never hid this from him b/c I was friendly with him when I met DH). I do not think she should be invited to the wedding b/c it would be an uncomfortable situation on YOUR day.

As for me, I told my ex when I got engaged and he asked about my wedding plans along the way. Was it weird? Yeh. Did it upset him? I think a little. But we had our time together and our time was over. He knew it and I knew it.

Are FH and her still friends or what is their relationship like now?

thanks it makes sense they have not spoken in a few years but she always seems to look him up every few years to see how he is I know they had a very heated intense relationship and I know since we talked about this it would of not ended had she not been involved with someone else already. I trust him 100 % no reason not too just not sure what is right or wrong in this situation . thanks so much for the reply :) it seems like you have a great relationship all the way around with everyone that is refreshing kudos to you

Def. do not invite her to the wedding, why do you need the stress, this is YOUR DAY!!!

It sounds like they just talk every few years, so no I do not think that it is necessary to invite her to the wedding!

FH still talks to his ex-girlfriend's parent's (her father is our accountant), and we are inviting them to the wedding (not ex, just parents). Although if he wanted to invite her I would not have a problem with it. She was his high school girlfriend, nothing big, but he sees her maybe once a year (and I say maybe because she is usually not home) when he goes to the house to sign his paperwork for the taxes, and when he sees her, she asks him about me and they really only say 'hi, how are you,' so needless to say, she will not be getting an invitation since she is DEFINITELY not expecting one.

But anyway, again I do not think that she should be invited, nor do I think that she is even expecting to be. What does you FH say? Did he bring it up that he wants to invite her?

no he didnt bring it up I just want to be fair about everything since it is his day too . she contacted his friend a few weeks ago expressing interest in talking to FH again see how he is doing. he really does not have an opinion on her coming or not I think he is embarrassed about the whole situation since she was already in a relationship and he really fell for her hard by the time she told him so not really a subject he likes to talk about ! I guess I just feel like she was the one you know that one person you fall really hard and fast for they were wild and in love at the time and I dont feel worried at all just want to start things out on a good note with our marriage with honesty and trust nothing hidden.... the fact is she is very attractive and sort of a guy magnet not that I'm not :) but I'm grown up enough to accept the fact that she was 'the one ' way back when

i would not invite her, they don't talk all the time so it's not like they're good friends, we are actually inviting fh's ex's sister and 2 cousins cause he is still friendly with them, we've even gone to the sister's house and ex came by too, but the ex won't be at the wedding he doesn't want her there

here is a random question how many of your Fh ex's do you know about ? does everyone here feel like their Fh was honest about all ex's ? just wondering I'm sure we all have some stories to tell :)

I have no problem with my DHs exes and he has no problems with mine. Unfortunately, I do have an ex who tries to make trouble for us. I agree with my DH that my ex has a problem and I wish he would just leave us alone. So, DH and I are on the same page about it and we hope that my ex quits with his antics. I have met one ex of DHs and I hardly ever give it any thought.

But, and you may not want to hear this opinion, if my DH had a history of dating a married woman, I'd be very uncomfortable, even if it was just one married woman in his past and even if he didn't know at first.

This is what I was thinking.

But, I wouldn't invite her at all...besides, you'd have to invite the husband...and well, that whole situation could get very ugly, very fast.

I wouldnt invite her especially since they don't really talk on a regular basis... If they talked all the time and you were all friends that I might say maybe... but this is your day 2... You shouldnt feel weird or uncomfortable (& you might if she is there) Good Luck!

My FH sometimes chat's online (IM) , talks to his ex...she text messages him... (& she seems to always text him when we are in the car together alone and the ring is different than his regular phone tone ~ I can sense or feel it is her when she does this for some reason ~ i guess women intuition....) (she did him real bad = cheated on him ect and strung him a long BIG time) she calls every year the beginning of the summer (she knows he has a boat ect...) In the beginning of our relationship it really bothered me ~ now we have been together for awhile ~ I am not as bothered by it... It sometimes bug me...but I try not to let it....(I think it bugs me more to know that she still calls and she knows he is in a relationshhip ~ I think she has some screws loose)

I believe it is best to leave the past... well... in the past.

Since you are a bit worried/concerned, don't try to bring her back into your life. Who knows what it would bring. It think it could open a can of worms.

Do not stress yourself or think about her. Like I said, the past is the past. You don't have to compete with her neither do you have any 'obligations' to have her in you and your FH's life.

do NOT invite ANY ex's to your wedding!!! to me, i don't care how friendly people are with each other after a relationship ends, it would break my heart to see some girl that my FH was with on MY wedding day.... who needs to be reminded that they were physically, emotionally, etc. etc. involved with someone else on YOUR wedding day? NO WAY....

I'm still good friends with my ex and he's not coming... no way. we'll catch up another time... and this one that you're talkingabout... sounds to heated, i would avoid it at all costs.

I always think it is a little weird when ex's get involved in weddings...

My firlfriend got married and her husband's ex refused to allow her daughter to participate unless she was invited. She felt it was only right. Now custody order would make the daughter fully able to participate... but the mother was willing to make it impossible.

Now the wedding was beautiful and the ex caused no problems in the end... but the sheer STRESS that my gf went through worrying about the what if factor. Not worth it.

I don't think there is any reason to invite her - or even to tell her unless you guys keep contact with her for some reason. It hasn't even crossed my mind to let any of mine or my FH ex's know anything about our plans! :)

My FH hasn't spoke to either of his ex's (he only had two other girlfriends) in over 6 years. I don't think I have anything to worry about.

Oh, I did have one ex at my wedding--but I dated him when I was 21, and on my wedding day I was I was 37. So he was an ex from 16 years ago and not someone that I even think of using the term 'ex' anymore. We kept in touch, cross country and even when he lived overseas. I think it's a whole different ballgame so many years later.

i actually don't have a problem with my fh ex at all. we're probably gonna invite her to the wedding. heh, i haven't even met her yet. =0P honestly though, they were really close and she was a big part of his life for a while, i'd actually really like to get to know her and find out about all the stuff i missed out on (i met him after they broke up). plus she seems like a really cool girl and we'd probably be really good friends under different circumstances. i have no problem with her, but i think i make her uncomfortable (even though she dumped him). i think she's warming up to the idea of meeting me though. she just started talking to fh in the past year or two and we just moved to the city she's attending school in (totally unintentionally), so we'll see how it goes.

i dunno, i guess i'm really easy going. i'm totally confident in our relationship and i really do want to meet her. =0P oh well, i'm weird.

If they were best friends and spoke all the time, then he would have to invite her, but talking once every few years - no way!!!

DH was friends with some of his exes - it never bothered me - one was invited to the wedding and she RSVPd no with no explanation, and then we never heard from her again....
