Office Kitchen etiquette

Office Kitchen etiquette

So, I just get up to get myself a cup of tea. I wash my cup and my spoon as I'm letting the water boil (they have two of those very British electric kettles in the kitchen). Another woman comes in and empties out her mug under my arm as I'm standing at the sink. No excuse me or anything. I dry my mug, move over to the kettle and put some sugar in. As I turn to throw away the sugar packet wrappers, the woman takes my spoon! I turn around and say 'Oh' and she looks at me, guilty as a little kid and says 'Oh, I just nicked your spoon' Um YEAH, YOU DID!

This is a grown woman--I'm talking early to mid 50's!!!-- and it was so obvious that I just WASHED the spoon so that I could use it!!! Lazy beyotch!

Is it retaliation for your mug stealing episodes?

you should have licked it and then handed it back to her.

Different woman. If it was the mug woman (who I've gotten to know a bit, and is actually very nice) I would've given her the spoon because I still harbor some gnawing guilt over that one!!

Then the stupid spoon stealer (maybe she's a Yule Lad???) used the milk and then put it back in the fridge when I'm obviously standing right there waiting for her to finish with it.

I'm not drinking tea anymore - it's waaaay too much trouble!

That was rude of her!

You're single handedly dispelling the myth of the oh-so-mannerly Brits.

Just drink it plain. It makes it much easier.
Milk causes issues here, fortunatley I think milk is
