~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

Original post by TGs Lady 22908

I've decided that I'm a brat and wanted a Fox Hollow thread all my (OUR) own since 'The New Fox Hollow' thread is way, way old (and way, way long).

Here we can share ideas, vendors, themes, colors, pretty much everything....

So who's with me here?....I know you're out there!!

What's your date?....What room are you in?....

I think their prices range from $60- $130 a head depending on room and night of the week and time of year. I think they are pretty resonable.

sorry, i meant the florist prices
im already booked there for my wedding

Burtons is very resonable- I am paying under $700 for everything except ceremony flowers and I am doing my own center pieces, but gettig bunches of flowers from them. Def check them out if you are cutting costs with flowers.

what r u getting from burton's??

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

Im getting my bo-k, 5 BM bo-ks, 4 nosegays, 9 boutineers, a throw (but Im asking them to take it out), a flower girl basket, and 80 individual stems. They charge by quantity not by type of flower. Orchids and peonies will cost the same as roses or carnations.

BTW Fox Hollow girls, last time I went there, Arthur told me they got rid of the chairs that are in the pics above and I saw the ones they replaced them with and they look fine. Shuldn't need covers or anything. They are supposed to not be as heavy. Just an FYI.

yeah we really liked him too! when we firswt got there and he started going over the menu.....our jaws just dropped!! and all we could think was....'we will never afford this place!' lol....but we were again in shock when he told us the prices. one of the things we loved about him was when we got there he asked us...'so what do you want for your wedding?'....and then he said....'your wedding will come with a 30 year guarantee...' after that it's on you, lol!

Yay, I'm a Fox Hollow bride! FH and I signed our contract with Dave last week. He's hysterical! Our jaws dropped too when he was going over the menu with us, and what made it worse was that we visited Fox Hollow on an empty stomach!

We're going to be in the The Garden Terrace with the cocktail reception outside, or in the Colonial Briar Fox if it rains.

I've felt like such a left behind bride for so long now, that I'm so relieved to have one thing set in stone.

Oo I forgot to say that we are in the winter garden pavillion for the cocktail hour and the briar fox room for the reception. I love the WGP, I wanted an outdoor cocktail hour, but didn;t want to worry about the weather so that room is perfect i think!

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

Question for the fellow WGP brides- we were told the room holds 150- but they will allow up to 155 or 160. Was anyone else told this? We didn't think FH's family in Brazil would be comming to the wedding, and his parents were there last week, and now some are talking about possibly comming. I would love for them to come, but wish we had counted them in the beginning. Our list right now is at 148. So we may have to either drop 12 people from the list or figure out a way to add 12 people. We already had to drop singles from bringing guests- and I know this will cause a problem for some friends. And we had to take off about 6 people we are pretty good friends with but live out of town. Now it is comming to possibly having to cut some of my parents guests which may not be a good idea since they are paying. Anyone have any ideas?

AHHHHH!

Thanks!

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

I just have a quick ?? for all of you Fox Hollow girls. Since you booked has anyone been in touch with you from the hall??

I booked with Ron T. and I remember him at one point saying that he only did sales (since he retired and came back blah blah)....so who's my Banquet Manager???? The only person I've been in touch with what this kind-of rude BM who I spoke to once when I called with some questions (they we're not even unreasonable questions) . He wasn't very comforting and his answers were abrubt and he had a very 'well this is what happens and that's that' kind of attitude.

My first (well, second) payment is due on the first of the month and I know alot of girls on the board say to stay in touch with your hall b/c your day is ultimately in their hands but I wouldn't even know where to start with trying to develop a professional relationship with these people. I don't know who my BM is I don't really know anything or anyone (besides Ron) actually. I have alot of questions but after last time I'm just turned off to calling just anyone.

I just don't know what to do. I don't know the timeline for these things.....should I have spoken with someone about ANYTHING besides booking?? I know that food and linins come WAY later but what about making sure I have access to the photo room and all that sort of thing???

Ahhhh!!! Help.

please.

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

I would probably go down with my payment and ask to speak to a BM before making the payment. At least this way I would have face to face contact with someone. I don't know if that's doable for you or not.

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

ask for Dave Gerin. He's there on the weekend and he's great! That's who we booked with and I'm under the impression that he's our BM too!

As far as the room capacity goes, we were told the room maxes out at 156 (and it's not all too comfy) 13 tables of 12 people each.

I'm hoping not to go over 140

I know a few brides are using the house florist but has anyone met with the house planners and coordinators? Useful?

well I can't really answer your question, but Perfect Wedding Planners is hosting the Bridal Showcase next Wednesday so maybe you could go and meet them there, and have you gone to a 'tea party' yet? I'm going April 24th I think.

I haven't gone to the tea party because FH wanted to go. But maybe we can go to the showcase.
