Official 30+ Brides (previously 40+ thread)

This thread was orignally started for the 40+ Brides but would love to invite all 30+ brides to join.

I love talking to all the brides out there but I would like to hear what us 'Older Brides' are doing to plan their wedding. I am finding that I am doing things a little different and would like to see what others are doing.

We will have all types of music. I'll even sneak in some country music!!! FH hates but I love it..

Ok so i am guessing I really dont need the grooms cake. When I asked FH about it he had never heard of it.

I was 44 when I got married, I had a Grooms cake made up for my DH.
We had it at our rehearsal dinner, everyone loved it. It's your day you do what you want to do.

i am going to just wear a real pretty comb. No veil

I'm thinking one of those veil that just cover the face or is the half of your face. I like the combs but a long veil that's not me.

I haven't decided yet. I'm leaning towards a veil at the church (no blusher though) and just a comb or headband at the reception.

My hair was half-up and half-down.

I used a comb with fresh flowers in the back of my head.

My MOH had a smaller comb with fresh flowers on the side of her head.

I won day of hair and makeup with M***I***A**at the 09 shower so I'm doing half up half down and I bought a beautiful veil at a sample sale.

Glad we have this thread! I'm having a MOH, BM, RB, and FG. Doing the anniversary dance and will give a bottle of wine or champagne. I'm getting all the pictures done before the cocktail hour. The time is going to fly and it's going to be a great time to mingle with guests.
I'm thinking of not having a BP. I would to walk half way and DH meets me and we walk to rest.

This is what we did.

We had a MOH and BM only..friends from college.

Where is everyone going on their HM. We are thinking about a cruise out of PR that will stop at a different island each day. The only thing I am worried about is we are getting married in Sept and its hurricane season.

we are going back to Hawaii!!! We were there for 16 days last October and that's where we both realized that we were meant to be together.

Thanks - it's true. We knew that if we went away together for 16 days and survived it, that we had something really special. The best part was that the first day back at work , we were so lonely for each other, we must have called either 20 times!

We're such saps sometimes!
