Good Mornig Ladies!

My name is Leslie-

To answer the first topic... my FMIL wanted to have the black cake/fruit cake for the wedding cake and I was like NO WAY!! Instead we are going to have the 'light' fruit cake as a favor. I have to have my Butter cream cake for the wedding!!! I can have Black cake in December... as we all now that is a tradition in the West Indian culture.. MY FH family is from Trinidad.

We are not going to jump the broom.

Let's keep this thread moving girls!!!

Hey Christina!

I was actually talking about the west indian black cake. I plan on making it one of my favors.

As far as the wedding cake it will be red velvet to follow through with my theme.

Did everyone have a chance to see my bio?


I was referring to the same cake too... your mom doesn't put rum in it? now you got me thinking.. maybe I should do it too?? i gotta represent my roots and culture!

Never heard of black pudding and I have dated a Trini and my FI who is half Jamiacan


I have heard about Black pudding but not in cake... it's rice cook in blood and stuff into somthing.. but it looks like sausages and it's grayish black.. i know it sounds horrible and but it's soo damn good when dipped in mango sour dip or tamarin!
