Okay ladies, I love all of the LIW Girls, but I thought it was time that we have a thread dedicated to African American Brides, so that we could discuss wedding and non-wedding related issues that are significant and or relate to women of color. I would put hair jewelry. I wouldn't wear a tiara with it. What do you think about these hairstyle?
glad to help. i am having an evening weeding and i would say that it is medium. i am inviting 200... i have a 150 min to meet. DJ's...i am in the same situation (HIP HOP, R&B, Reggae and Calypso) and still looking. i asked a friend to be my DJ (hoping for a break but no such luck). i am keeping him in my back pocket

We are having an evening wedding with about 100 people. I am excited. Are you using a wedding planner? I guess I may call Ultimate Sounds to get a quote. It doesn't hurt. I think most of these DJ sites come off a little cheesy but maybe it doesn't necessarily speak to the type of work they do.
I have one. My RH provided me with one, but I haven't used her. I want to be in control, so I'm not sure. But I will have a DOC to make sure the day goes off smoothly.

Me too. I plan on having an updo with a tiara & veil. Hopefully I can find a hairstyle to pull it off but if not I may have to give up either the tiara or veil.

I like all three. I'll have to save them to my hairstyles folder. I really need a hair trial. I'll talk to my stylist when I go for my regular appt tonight.

i am not using a wedding planner. its just me my mom and some help from my MOH. the hall gives you a planner up until 2wks b4 the wedding. i left her an email 2 months ago and she still hasn't replied. whatever, i don't really need her like that. are you using a planner?
I don't have a planner but I may get a DOC. My mom doesn't have the energy to handle too much and 3 of my 4 BM's live out of town so I feel like I will need some help at the tail end of things. I have no desire to feel super stressed on my wedding day. Who is doing your makeup?
i am considering doing it myself after i go for a trial in the Bare Essentials shop. i use them alot b/c i don't want to look too made up.

I am so excited - I have my first fitting tomorrow - We picked up my veil - I brought my shoesI have my tiara and now I get to put the entire ensemble together tomorrow!!!!
